More Pictures

Posted by Paul - because I can't post pictures from my iPad.

The first part of the day was spent doing laundry and then we went to a string quartet playing Beethoven.

Kathie worked in the morning and then took us to the concert and then went back to work.  I walked around the neighbourhood.  The first picture has Newcastle University Business School Building in the back. That is the one that seems to be missing a slab.  There is all kinds of construction around the building so I could not get any closer.

The second picture is part of the original wall that was around Newcastle over 1000 years ago.  There are only parts of the wall remaining and they were actually taking the wall down in 1910 but for some reason they stopped.

You can see through the Archer port.

Milliennium Bridge

This is the Milliennium Bridge in Newcastle. It is a pedestrian bridge that rotates to allow boats to go underneath.

We are here.

So after months of (mostly Kathie's) planning we have arrived in Newcastle.  We are staying right next to the business school buliding that Kathie has to go to most days. James and I get to explore while Kathie is working.

Yesterday we went to the Great North Museum: Handcock. It has a model of  Hadrian's wall that is 100 +feet long. It also has artifacts from ancient Greece and Egypt.

Today James and I are off to see the Millenieum bridge.  I will post pictures tomorrow.
